Our Team

Elva Hernandez joined CIRE Equity in 2020 and serves as the Vice President of Accounting, playing a pivotal role in all facets of corporate and operational accounting and financial reporting. Her responsibilities encompass overseeing all accounting and reporting functions, with a significant focus on the development, implementation, and management of accounting and financial reporting processes, as well as cash management.

Elva’s leadership has been indispensable to CIRE as the company expanded into new product lines. She took the lead in setting up new software, processes, and training for the accounting team, ensuring they were well-equipped to support the growing business. Notably, Elva spearheaded the implementation of Mortgage Office to support the addition of a debt fund, creating all fund accounting processes from the ground up to ensure seamless operations. 

With over 20 years of experience in accounting, corporate treasury, reporting, and operations within the real estate industry, Elva has held key roles in both public and private companies. Prior to joining CIRE Equity, she served as the Vice President, Controller at Hudson Pacific Properties, overseeing accounting infrastructure development and leading corporate and operations accounting for the $7 billion company. Preceding her tenure at Hudson Pacific Properties, she was the Assistant Controller at GE and Arden Realty, where she was responsible for Sarbanes Oxley audits, as well as the preparation and review of financial statements and was also instrumental in all acquisition and disposition operational transitions. Prior to that, she was a Property Accountant with Charles Dunn RES, Inc. Additionally, Elva served as an independent consultant to several real estate firms to assist in the development and implementation of enhanced accounting processes and internal controls, acquisition integration and system enhancements. 

Elva’s dedication extends beyond her professional accomplishments. She actively supports her team’s development, regularly checking in on both personal and professional levels, providing training, mentorship, and advocating for self-care to maintain a positive mental health outlook. Under Elva’s leadership, the CIRE accounting department has not only established a robust structure and processes but also created an environment where each team member thrives. 

Elva holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an option in Accounting and Computer Information Systems from California State University, Los Angeles. Since October 2021, she has been involved with the UCSB Women in Leadership Board, contributing to their vision of inspiring change agents within organizations and the community by donating her time to improving their curriculum and furthering the objectives of advancing women in leadership positions.
